Curriculum and Programs

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to

change the world".  Nelson Mandela

It is our belief that all children are proficient learners who bringing their unique skills and knowledge to our community.                        Our programs are child focused and initiated inspired by children’s curiosity and imagination designed to nurture the developments and promotes growth of each child.

Programming is based on observing children on a regular basis, evaluating their needs and interests and planning future activities from these observations. We aim to develop programs to meet the children’s needs and therefore enhance individual development. Programs are evaluated on a regular basis by the Educators and Management. The developmental skills and curriculum is based on :

  • Social – cooperation, sharing, turn-taking and problem solving

  • Emotional – self awareness, self control, self discipline

  • Physical Fine motor – small muscle development e.g. cutting, drawing

  • Physical Gross motor – large muscle development e.g. running, jumping

  • Cognitive – thinking, listening and resolving conflict

  • Language – communicating and self expression

Indoor Program

Indoor and outdoor play based experiences are an integral part of our program. Play is essential to all children’s development as moments will arise when they discover something that interests them. Staff plan a diverse range of experiences to create opportunities for both structured and spontaneous play focused on the physical, emotional/social, sensory and cognitive developmental areas of each child.Children learn through their own experiences using trial and error, repetition, imitation and identification.  Staff use interactive strategies to support children’s growth and learning.

Outdoor Program

Staff use interactive strategies to support children’s growth and learning. We advocate children learning best through play – direct play, hands on experiences to discover the environment around them by exploring and playing.

Munch and Move Program

Munch & Move is NSW Health initiative that supports the healthy development of children birth to 5 years by promoting physical activity, healthy eating and reduced small screen time (e.g. watching TV or DVDs, playing on computers and small hand-held games devices).

Our educators  implement a fun, play-based approach to supporting healthy eating and physical activity habits in young children. The Munch & Move program fits within the new National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework.
